Mänttä-Vilppula is a town and municipality in Finland. It is located in the Pirkanmaa region. This town was formed on January 1, 2009, when the two smaller municipalities of Mänttä and Vilppula joined together.
Mänttä-Vilppula is home to about 9,271 people. It covers a total area of 657.08 square kilometres (253.70 sq mi). A big part of this area, 122.61 km2 (47.34 sq mi), is covered by water, like lakes. The main language spoken here is Finnish.
The town is surrounded by other municipalities like Keuruu, Juupajoki, Jämsä, Ruovesi, and Virrat. The large city of Tampere is about 97 kilometres (60 mi) southwest of Mänttä-Vilppula.
