Juupajoki is a small town, also known as a municipality, in Finland. It is located in the Pirkanmaa region. Juupajoki has a population of about 1,708 people (as of 31 December 2023). This makes it the smallest municipality in Pirkanmaa based on population.
The municipality covers an area of 274.95 square kilometres (106.16 sq mi). About 16.47 km2 (6.36 sq mi) of this area is water. The population density is about 6.61 inhabitants per square kilometre (17.1/sq mi). This means there are about that many people living in each square kilometer.
The main town and administrative center of Juupajoki is Korkeakoski. Juupajoki shares borders with several other municipalities. These include Jämsä, Mänttä-Vilppula, Orivesi, and Ruovesi. The larger city of Tampere is located about 56 kilometres (35 mi) southwest of Juupajoki. The official language spoken in the municipality is Finnish.
