MV Bill, whose real name is Alexandre Pereira Barbosa, is a famous Brazilian rapper, singer, actor, and songwriter. He was born on January 3, 1974. His stage name "MV" means "Messenger of Truth" in Portuguese. He got the nickname "Bill" from a toy he loved as a child. He also helped write a very popular book called Falcão - Meninos do Tráfico.
MV Bill is known as one of the most important rappers in Brazilian hip hop, especially in Rio de Janeiro. He uses his music to talk about important social issues. He strongly believes in helping young people in Brazil find positive activities instead of getting involved in dangerous situations.
He started a group of non-profit organizations (NGOs) in Rio. These groups, like CUFA, teach kids hip-hop skills, graffiti art, and break dancing. They also offer educational classes, such as computer training. Many of MV Bill's songs tell stories about young Brazilians affected by difficult situations in Rio.

Alexandre Pereira Barbosa was born on January 3, 1974. He grew up in the Cidade de Deus neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. His father, Mano Juca Barbosa, worked as a firefighter. His mother, Dona Cristina, was a housewife.
His younger sister, Kamilla "Kmila CDD" Barbosa, is also a famous rapper. She is considered one of the biggest female rap artists in Brazil.
