How Madison Lake Was Created
Madison Lake wasn't always here! It was formed in 1947. This happened when a dam was built on Deer Creek. Deer Creek is a small stream in Madison County, Ohio.
After the lake was created, the land was given to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in 1950. That's when it officially became a state park. The ODNR helps take care of the park and makes sure it's a fun and safe place for everyone.

Boating and Swimming
