João Victor Saraiva (born January 22, 1977), known as Madjer, is a retired beach soccer player from Portugal. He played as a forward. Madjer won many awards at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup for his amazing goal-scoring skills. He got his nickname "Madjer" because his hero was the famous Algerian player Rabah Madjer. Many people say he is the best beach soccer player ever. In September 2016, he became the first player to score 1000 goals in international beach soccer games. This happened during an 8–1 win against England. In 2019, the well-known magazine France Football called him the best beach soccer player of all time.

Madjer's International Career

Madjer was known for his incredible quickness and dribbling skills. This was surprising because he was quite tall (194 cm, or about 6 feet 4 inches). He was also very good at scoring goals with acrobatic moves. These included volleys, over-head kicks, and bicycle kicks. His special skills were a huge help to his team. He played in major tournaments like the EBSL, Mundialito, and especially the Beach Soccer World Championship.

Awards and Achievements

Madjer won the World Cup Golden Boot three times. This award is for the player who scores the most goals in the tournament. He earned it at the 2005, 2006, and 2008 World Cups. He was also named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the EBSL in 1999, 2006, 2008, and 2009.

He stopped playing beach soccer after winning the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. His team beat Italy in that final game.
