Magda's Paralympic Skiing Journey
Magda is a B2 type skier. This means she has very limited vision. In para-alpine skiing, athletes with visual impairments often ski with a guide. The guide goes ahead of them, telling them about the course. This helps the skier know where to turn and how fast to go.
First Paralympic Medals
Magda's Paralympic journey began in 1992. She competed in the 1992 Winter Paralympics. These games were held in Albertville, France. Magda showed her talent right away. She won a bronze medal in the giant slalom race. This was a fantastic start to her career!
Two years later, she competed again. This was at the 1994 Winter Paralympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Magda continued to impress. She earned a silver medal in the downhill race. Downhill is one of the fastest and most exciting skiing events.
