Magic Kingdom, Sydney facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Magic Kingdom was a fun, small amusement park that used to be in Lansvale, New South Wales, Australia. It was a popular place for families to visit. Sadly, this park is now closed.

History of Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom was open for many years, from the 1970s through the early 1990s. The park closed its doors not long after another big park, Wonderland Sydney, first opened.

TV Commercials and Music

You might have seen TV commercials for Magic Kingdom! These ads used the catchy song "Magic" by the band Pilot. It helped make the park famous.

Rides from Luna Park

Some of Magic Kingdom's rides came from another well-known park, Luna Park Sydney. Luna Park closed for a while in 1979 after a sad event involving its Ghost Train ride. When it closed, Magic Kingdom was able to get some of its rides.

Why the Park Closed

At its best, Magic Kingdom was very popular. However, it was a smaller park. Also, its location made it hard for people to get to. The only road to the park went through industrial and residential areas. Because of these reasons, the park found it difficult to keep going.

What Happened to the Site?

The land where Magic Kingdom once stood was sold in 2017. But there have been problems with flooding from the nearby Prospect Creek. This has made it hard to build anything new on the site.

Attractions and Fun Things to Do
