Magley is a small, quiet place located in Adams County, in the state of Indiana, United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that don't have their own separate local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Preble Township.
History
Magley has a simple but interesting history. The community got its start when a post office was opened there in 1883. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail, and it was a very important service for communities back then. The community was named after the first person who ran the post office, a man named Jacob J. Magley. The post office in Magley served the community for many years, but it eventually closed down in 1927. Even though the post office is gone, the name Magley continues to be used for this small Indiana community.
