Lars Magnus Carlsson (born on June 24, 1974) is a famous Swedish singer. He was a member of two popular bands, Alcazar and Barbados. Magnus also performs as a solo artist.

Early Life and Music Start

Magnus Carlsson was born in Borås, Sweden. He grew up in a town called Fristad. He loved music from a young age.

Magnus studied music for many years. He spent two years in high school focusing on music. Then, he studied for four more years at Gothenburg University. There, he learned to be a music and singing teacher.

In 1992, Magnus joined a Swedish dansband called Barbados. A dansband is a type of band that plays music for dancing. He sang with Barbados for ten years.

In 2002, Magnus left Barbados. On December 13, 2002, he joined the pop-dance group Alcazar. His last concert with Barbados was on January 24, 2003.

Magnus Carlsson's Solo Career

Magnus Carlsson started his solo music career in 2006. He took part in a big music contest called Melodifestivalen. This contest chooses Sweden's song for the Eurovision Song Contest.

In February 2006, he sang "Lev Livet!" in Melodifestivalen. The song was written by Anders Glenmark and Niklas Strömstedt. Magnus made it to the final round of the competition.

In 2007, Magnus tried Melodifestivalen again. He performed an energetic song called "Live Forever." It was an electropop dance song inspired by the 1980s. Even though he didn't win, "Live Forever" became very popular. It was one of the most played songs on Swedish radio that year. The song also earned a gold certificate, meaning it sold many copies.

Magnus Carlsson returned to Melodifestivalen in 2015. He sang "Möt mig i Gamla stan" (Meet me in Gamla stan). He reached the final again. He finished in 9th place out of 12 finalists.
