Early Life and Music Journey
Magnus Carlsson grew up in a town called Fristad, near Borås, Sweden. He loved music from a young age. He spent six years studying music at the University of Gothenburg. There, he trained to become a music and singing teacher.
In 1992, Magnus joined a Swedish dansband (a type of dance music band) called Barbados. He sang with them for ten years. In 2002, he decided to leave Barbados. Soon after, in December 2002, he joined the pop-dance group Alcazar. His last concert with Barbados was in January 2003.

Magnus Carlsson started his solo music career in 2006. He quickly became well-known for his own songs.
Melodifestivalen Appearances
Magnus has often taken part in Melodifestivalen. This is a big music contest in Sweden that chooses the country's song for the Eurovision Song Contest.
- 2006: He competed with the song "Lev Livet!" (meaning "Live Life!"). He made it all the way to the final round.
- 2007: He performed "Live Forever," an upbeat pop song. Even though it didn't win, it became one of the most played songs on Swedish radio that year. It also earned a "gold certificate" for its sales.
- 2015: Magnus returned to Melodifestivalen with "Möt mig i Gamla stan" (meaning "Meet Me in Gamla stan"). He reached the final again, finishing ninth among twelve finalists.
