Mai Charoenpura (Thai: ใหม่ เจริญปุระ), born on January 5, 1969, is a famous Thai singer and actress. She was also known by her earlier stage name, Mai Siriwimol (Thai: ใหม่ สิริวิมล).

Biography
Early life and education
Mai Charoenpura was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Her father was a well-known Thai actor named Surin Charoenpura, also known as Ruj Ronnapop. Mai has three sisters: Venic White, Vipavee Maguire, and a half-sister, actress Intira Charoenpura. She went to school in England at Farringtons School.
Music career
Mai Charoenpura started her music career in 1989. Since then, she has released many albums and music videos. She has also performed in numerous concerts.
In 2007, Mai performed in Manchester, England. This concert was organized by Thaksin Shinawatra, who was the former prime minister of Thailand. The event celebrated his ownership of the football club Manchester City F.C..
Acting career
Mai Charoenpura has been acting in Thai television shows and movies since the 1980s. She is very well known for her role as 'Pring' in a TV drama called Khon Rerng Muang (Thai: คนเริงเมือง). She played this character twice in different TV versions, first in 1988 and again in 2002.
Mai also gained international attention for her role as Lady Srisudachan. This was in the 2001 film The Legend of Suriyothai. The movie was directed by Chatrichalerm Yukol and was shown in cinemas in the United States in 2003.
In 2010, Mai Charoenpura appeared in a horror film called Die a Violent Death. She acted alongside Akara Amarttayakul and Supaksorn Chaimongkol. Some of her other movies include Memory and ... Grinder.
After taking a break from acting, she returned to television in 2019. She starred in the Channel 3 drama Krong Kam as the character Yoi.
Namesake
Another famous actress, Davika Hoorne, is nicknamed Mai because of Mai Charoenpura.
