Mainpuri district is a special area, like a county, in the Uttar Pradesh state of India. It's part of the Agra Division, which is a larger administrative region. The main town and headquarters of this district is called Mainpuri.

Mainpuri district is divided into six smaller parts called tehsils. These are Mainpuri, Bhongaon, Karhal, Kishni, Kurawali, and Ghiror.

People of Mainpuri

According to a count done in 2011, about 1,847,194 people live in Mainpuri district. This makes it the 255th most populated district out of 640 districts in India. Many different groups of people live here, including Yadavs, Shakyas, Rajputs, Bhrahmins, and Muslims.
