Hernán Enrique Jiménez Pino (born May 7, 1983), is a singer from Panama. He is much better known by his stage name, Makano. His name "Makano" means "strong like a tree" in Panama and Colombia.

When he was 12 years old, Makano was part of a reggaeton music group. The group was called "Los Makanos." The members made a promise. They said the first person to record a full music album would carry on the group's name.

Makano started writing good music when he was 16. At first, his father wanted him to get a different job. But Makano kept trying to make music. In 2004, he got a chance to appear on a music CD called La Alianza. After that, he recorded several songs. These songs became very popular in Panama.

In 2007, Makano signed with a music company called Panama Music. He then recorded his first album as a solo singer. The album was called Te Amo Rosemary. It included popular songs like "Yo Quisiera Vivir," "Te Va a Doler," "Te Amo," and "Déjame Entrar." His song "Te Amo" became a huge hit. It was the number one song on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart for two weeks in May 2009.
