Makoto Moriwaki is a talented Japanese anime director from Hokkaidō, Japan. She helps bring animated stories to life! An anime director is like the main leader for making animated shows and movies. They decide how the story looks and feels on screen.

In 1982, Makoto Moriwaki helped start a company called Animal House. She founded it with Yoshinobu Sanada, Toshiyuki Honda, and Hiroshi Fukutomi. This company is now known as Ekura Animal. For many years, from the first Doraemon movie made by Shin'ei Dōga until 1989, she was in charge of making sure these movies were produced well. She also worked as an assistant director for movies like Nobita's Monstrous Underwater Castle and the Kaibutsu-kun movie Demon Sword.
