Doraemon (ドラえもん) is a super popular Japanese story. It started as a manga (comic book) and then became an anime (cartoon show). The series was created by a writer named Fujiko F. Fujio. It first appeared in children's magazines in 1969.
The main character is Doraemon, a friendly robot cat. He travels from the future to help a boy named Nobita Nobi. Most stories show Doraemon using a special gadget from his four-dimensional pocket. These gadgets help Nobita with his problems. But often, Nobita uses the gadget too much or in the wrong way. This usually leads to funny trouble, and Nobita learns an important lesson.
The Doraemon anime television show started in 1979. It has been on TV for a very long time! By 1996, over 100 million Doraemon comic books were sold. That's a lot of comics! The show is very popular in Asia. It has been translated into many languages. For example, you can find it in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, and Vietnam.

Takeshi Goda (Gian)
- Gian is another one of Nobita's classmates.

Suneo Honekawa

Sewashi
- Sewashi is Nobita's great-great-grandson.
- He lives in the future, born in the year 2115.
- He is the one who sent Doraemon back in time to help Nobita.
Dorami
- Dorami is Doraemon's younger sister.
- Her body is yellow.
