Early Life and Education
Malcolm Jones III went to the High School of Art and Design. He studied there with Michael Davis. Michael Davis later helped start Milestone Media. After high school, Malcolm Jones III went to Pratt Institute. He graduated from this well-known art school.
Comic Book Career Highlights
Malcolm Jones III started his professional comic book career in 1985. His first work was inking a story called "Cheap Labor." This story appeared in a DC Comics book called New Talent Showcase #15.
His first regular job was as an inker for DC's Young All-Stars. He worked on issues #1-20 of this series. He also inked Young All-Stars Annual #1 in 1988.
Famous Inking Projects
Malcolm Jones III was especially known for his work on The Sandman. He added his unique style to the drawings. He worked with different pencillers, who are artists who draw the first sketches. Some of these pencillers included Mike Dringenberg, Kelley Jones, and Colleen Doran.
