Michael Davis was born on April 29, 1958. He is an American comics artist and writer. He is also one of the people who helped start Milestone Media.

Michael Davis's Journey in Comics

Michael Davis began his career in the comics world in the late 1980s. He started by writing an advice column for a magazine called Comic Buyer's Guide. Around that time, he also created Bad Boy Studios. This studio helped teach and guide younger artists and writers.

Creating Comics and New Companies

In 1989, Michael Davis worked as an artist with Tim Conrad. They created a comic series called Etc. for DC Comics' Piranha Press.

In 1992, Davis helped start Milestone Media. He co-founded it with Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, and Derek T. Dingle. Milestone Media focused on making comics with black superheroes. Michael Davis helped create many characters. These included Hardware, Static Shock, Icon, and the Blood Syndicate. He mostly worked on the business side of Milestone Media.

After leaving Milestone in 1994, he launched a new company. It was called Motown Machine Works. Denys Cowan joined him there. He was the president and CEO of Motown Animation & Filmworks. He left that role in 1996. He also served as President of Animation for Magic Johnson Entertainment. In 2006, he created The Guardian Line comic. This comic was for Urban Ministries. He has written articles for websites like ComicMix and Bleeding Cool. Michael Davis was also honored by being added to The Harvey Awards Hall Of Fame.
