The Mallinson Girls School is a well-known school for girls in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It's right in the middle of the city! Ms. Fitze Mallinson started the school in 1912. It first opened in a place called Fateh Kadal. Later, it moved to its current home in Sheikh Bagh, near Lal Chowk.

How the School Got Its Name
The school's name changed later to Mallinson Girls School. This was done to honor Miss Mallinson. She was a missionary who worked at the school for a long time. She served there from 1922 to 1961.
Important People from the School
The school has been a place of learning for many important people. Begum Zaffar Ali was the first woman in Kashmir to pass her matriculation exam. She started teaching at the Girls' Mission High School in 1925. Another famous person, Mehmooda Ali Shah, also studied here. She was a great educationist and received the Padma Shri award.
