Mallinson Girls School is a well-known school for girls in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is located right in the middle of the city. The school was started by Ms Fitze Mallinson in 1912. It first opened in Fateh Kadal and later moved to Sheikh Bagh, near Lal Chowk in Srinagar.

How the School Started
Mallinson Girls' School began its journey in 1912. It was founded by Miss Violet B. Fitze. Back then, it was known as the Girls' Mission High School.
A New Name for a Special Person
Later, the school's name changed to Mallinson Girls' School. This was done to honor Miss Mallinson. She was a missionary who worked at the school for a long time, from 1922 to 1961.
Important People from the School
Many important women have been part of Mallinson Girls' School. Begum Zaffar Ali was the first woman in Kashmir to finish high school. She started her career as a teacher at this school in 1925. Another famous person, Mehmooda Ali Shah, also studied here. She was an educationist and received the Padma Shri award for her work.
