Manchester is a small place in Dearborn County, Indiana. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. It's also a census-designated place, which means the government counts its population for official records.
History
Manchester got its first post office in 1822. A post office is where you send and receive mail. This post office served the community for many years, but it closed down in 1914. The community of Manchester was named after the area it's in, which is called Manchester Township.
