Manuel Falcó's Family Background
Manuel Falcó was born in Woodland, California. His family is one of the most important noble families in Spain. His father, Carlos Falcó, 5th Marquess of Griñón, was studying at the University of California, Davis. There, he met Manuel's mother, Jeannine Girod. They got married in 1963.
Manuel inherited a special noble title from his father. In September 2020, he became the 13th Marquess of Castel-Moncayo. This title also comes with the rank of a Grandee of Spain, which is a very high noble rank.
Manuel Falcó's Banking Career
Manolo Falcó has worked in banking for over 20 years. Most of this time has been at Citi.
Before joining Citi, he worked for a company called S.G. Warburg & Co. He started in Madrid, Spain, and then moved to London, England. After working there for ten years, he joined Citi in Madrid.
At Citi, he first led the operations for Spain. He also became the head of investment banking for both Spain and Portugal. Later, he moved back to London. There, he led Citi's investment banking for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). In September 2018, he became the global head of this entire banking division.
