Exploring Maputo Province
Maputo Province is a fascinating place with diverse landscapes. It covers a large area of about 22,693 square kilometers. In 2017, nearly 2 million people lived here.
Nature and Geography
The area around Maputo Bay is very important for protecting nature. It has many beautiful reefs and lakes. One special place is the Maputo Elephant Game Reserve. This reserve is home to amazing wildlife, including elephants. It also has lovely lakes like Lagoa Chingute and Lagoa Piti.
Another important natural area is the Machangulo Private Nature Reserve. This reserve is located on the Machangulo Peninsula. The biggest river in the province is the Maputo River. You can also find Inhaca Island as part of Maputo Province. It is a beautiful island in the Indian Ocean.

Maputo Province is divided into smaller areas called districts. This helps manage the different parts of the province. There are 7 districts in total:
