Early Life and Education
María Luisa Reid began her art journey by studying decorating and interior design. She attended IPAE from 1960 to 1963. After that, she explored different art forms.
Learning Wood Carving
From 1964 to 1966, she took classes in wood carving. She learned this skill at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas.
Painting and Tapestry Studies
María Luisa continued to expand her artistic skills. She studied painting from 1967 to 1969. Later, from 1972 to 1973, she learned about Gobelins tapestry. This was at the Escuela de Diseño y Artesanías y Escultura “La Esmeralda.”
Advanced Art Training
She returned to painting studies from 1978 to 1982. This time, she was at the Escuela de Pintura y Escultura “La Esmeralda.” Her passion for art led her to Paris, France. From 1982 to 1986, she studied sculpture at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in fine arts. These degrees were from the University of Paris in Saint Denis.
