Where the Marimanindji Lived
The Marimanindji people traditionally lived in the central Daly River area. Their lands were south of a place called Hermit Hill. Later studies showed they also lived south of both the Daly and Darwin rivers, towards the west. They were also found near the start of the Muldiva River.
Their Language
The language spoken by the Marimanindji people was called Marimanindji. It was a dialect, which means it was a special version, of the Marrithiyel language group. Sadly, the Marimanindji language is now almost gone.

The Marimanindji are often grouped together with the Marrithiyal people. This means they share some cultural or historical connections with this larger group.
