Marcala is a town and a municipality in the Honduran department of La Paz. In 2023, the town had about 15,050 people. The whole municipality had about 34,965 people.

This area is famous for its coffee. Marcala was the first place in Honduras to get a special "protected origin" label for its coffee. This means coffee from Marcala is known for its unique quality because of where it comes from.

Marcala is also an important spot on the Lenca Trail. This trail is a special project to help people visit Lenca communities. It helps visitors learn about the culture of the Lenca people. It also helps Lenca people sell their traditional crafts.
