Héctor Marcelo Buquet Corleto was born on October 4, 1963, in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is a talented actor and used to be a model. Marcelo is famous for his many roles in telenovelas, which are popular TV shows, especially in Latin America.
Marcelo Buquet's Acting Journey
Marcelo started his acting career at 18 years old. He joined a theater group in Uruguay called El Galpón del Uruguay. There, he worked on 25 different stage plays. He wasn't just an actor; he also helped produce the shows, wrote songs, and sang.
When he was 26, Marcelo moved to Mexico. He quickly got a role in a telenovela called Simplemente María. He acted alongside Victoria Ruffo in this show. He also performed in a play called Bear Jest, directed by Manolo Fábregas. For his work in this play, he was nominated for Best Comedy Actor of the Year. This award came from the Association of Theater Journalists of Mexico.
In 1992, Marcelo got another role in a telenovela, El abuelo y yo. He acted with Gael García Bernal, who is also a very famous actor today. The next year, he appeared in a movie from Uruguay called El dirigible.
In 1994, Marcelo produced and starred in two more plays. One was Triángulo, which was shown in Mexico City and Montevideo. The other was Che... Che... Chejov, which won an award for Best Self-Taught Production of the Year.
Later, in 1998, he played Rodrigo Bracho in the popular telenovela La usurpadora. He also appeared in its short follow-up, Más allá de la usurpadora. His most recent work was in 2010, in a Colombian telenovela called Doña Bella. He continues to act and has appeared in many shows since then.
