Marcelo Alejandro Horacio Guinle (born September 28, 1947 – died June 8, 2017) was an important Argentine politician. He belonged to the Justicialist Party. He served as a Senator for the Chubut Province. Later, he became the president of the Supreme Court of Chubut. He held this important position until he passed away.

Marcelo Guinle's Life and Work
Early Life and Education
Marcelo Guinle was born in Santa Fe. He went to the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina. In 1974, he earned a degree to become a lawyer. He was a very smart student.
After finishing his studies, he worked as a legal advisor. From 1974 to 1979, he advised a big energy company called YPF. Later, he started his own law practice in Chubut Province. He focused on helping workers with their legal issues.
Becoming a Judge and Entering Politics
Marcelo Guinle then became a judge. He handled different types of cases, including civil, commercial, and labor disputes. He also served on the Chamber of Appeals. This meant he reviewed decisions made by other judges. He was married to Lilia Castillo and had three sons and three grandsons.
In 1986, he started his political career. He became the Government Secretary for the city of Comodoro Rivadavia. The next year, in 1987, he was appointed Minister of Government, Education, and Justice for Chubut Province. He held this role until 1989.
Serving as Mayor and Senator
In 1994, Marcelo Guinle was chosen to be part of a special group. This group helped change Argentina's main rulebook, the Constitution of Argentina. The next year, in 1995, he was elected Mayor of Comodoro Rivadavia. He led the city for four years.
In 2000, he went back to school and earned another degree. This time, he became an accountant from the University of Morón. In 2001, he was elected to the Argentine Senate. He represented the Chubut Province.
A Leader in the Senate
Marcelo Guinle was re-elected as a Senator in 2003. In December 2003, he became the Provisional President of the Argentine Senate. This was a very important role. It meant he was third in line to become the President of the Republic.
He served in this high position until February 2006. He remained a Senator and was part of the Front for Victory group. This group was led by President Néstor Kirchner. He was re-elected again in 2009.
Later Years
After his time in the Senate, Marcelo Guinle continued to serve his country. He became the president of the Supreme Court of Chubut. He held this important judicial role until his death on June 8, 2017. He was a dedicated public servant for many years.
