Marcos Gustavo Mondaini, born on February 14, 1985, is a former professional football player from Argentina. He used to play as a striker, which means he was a forward player whose main job was to score goals for his team.

Marcos Mondaini's Football Journey

Marcos Mondaini had an exciting career playing football for many different teams. He played in several countries, including Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia, and the United States.

Starting in South America

Mondaini began his football journey in the youth teams of Boca Juniors, a very famous club in Argentina. He first played for their main team in 2004. During his time with Boca Juniors, he played in six league matches.

In 2006, Mondaini moved to Ecuador to play for Emelec on a loan. He had a great season there, playing 41 matches and scoring 12 goals. Because of his excellent performance, he was named the best player in Ecuador's Serie A league for 2006.

In 2008, he returned to Ecuador, but this time he played for Barcelona SC, a big rival of Emelec. He played 21 matches and scored 3 goals for them.

After a short return to Boca Juniors, Mondaini went to Uruguay to play for Nacional. He helped Nacional win the league title in the 2008–09 season. He also played in the 2009 Copa Libertadores, a major South American tournament, where he scored two goals and helped his team reach the semi-finals.

In 2010, Mondaini joined Atlético Nacional in Colombia. He scored his first goal for the team in his very first game on July 31, 2010.

Playing in the United States

In 2011, Mondaini moved to the United States. He was loaned from Centro Atlético Fénix of Uruguay to C.D. Chivas USA, a team in Major League Soccer (MLS). He scored his first goal for Chivas USA on April 30, 2011, helping his team win 3–0 against New England Revolution.

After playing one season in the MLS, Mondaini returned to his former Ecuadorian club, Emelec, in January 2012. He continued to play for Emelec for many years, from 2012 to 2019, becoming a very important player for them.
