Margaret Carnegie Miller (born March 30, 1897 – died April 11, 1990) was the only daughter of Andrew Carnegie. Her father was a very successful businessman and a great philanthropist, meaning he gave away a lot of his money to help others. Margaret inherited a large part of his fortune.

Margaret was born in New York City. She played an important role in the Carnegie Corporation of New York. This foundation was started by her father in 1911 to give grants and support good causes. Margaret served as a trustee, helping to guide the foundation, from 1934 to 1973. After that, she was an honorary lifetime trustee until she passed away.

Margaret's Family Life

On April 22, 1919, Margaret married Roswell Miller Jr. Their wedding took place at her family's home in New York City.

Margaret and Roswell had four children together. Their names were Louise, Roswell III, Barbara, and Margaret.

Margaret Carnegie Miller passed away on April 11, 1990. She was 93 years old and died at her home in Fairfield, Connecticut.
