Margaret Mazzantini (born 27 October 1961) is a talented Italian-Irish writer and actress. She has worked in films, television, and theatre, but she is most famous for her amazing books.
Margaret started acting in 1980. She even appeared in a horror film called Antropophagus. Later, she became a very successful writer. Margaret Mazzantini was born in Dublin, Ireland. Her father, Carlo Mazzantini, was an Italian writer and artist. Her mother, Anne Donnelly, was an Irish artist. Margaret grew up traveling around Europe, including Spain and Tangier, before her family settled in Tivoli. In 1982, she finished her studies at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome.

In 1987, Margaret married Sergio Castellitto, who is also an actor and director. They have four children together: Pietro (born 1992), Maria (born 1997), Anna (born 2001), and Cesare (born 2006). The family lives in Rome.
