Margaret Mazzantini began acting in 1980. She appeared in a horror film called Antropophagus. She also acted in many television shows and theatre productions. Margaret Mazzantini was born in Dublin, Ireland. Her father, Carlo Mazzantini, was an Italian writer and artist. Her mother, Anne Donnelly, was an Irish artist. Margaret has three sisters, and one of them is Giselda Volodi, who is also an actress.
Margaret spent her childhood traveling around different parts of Europe, including Spain and Tangier. Eventually, her family settled in Tivoli. In 1982, she finished her studies at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Rome.
Her Family Life
Margaret Mazzantini married Sergio Castellitto in 1987. They have four children together. Their children are Pietro (born in 1992), Maria (born in 1997), Anna (born in 2001), and Cesare (born in 2006). The family lives in Rome, Italy.
In 2003, Margaret Mazzantini received a special honor. She was given the title of Knight Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. This award came from the President of Italy.
