Anne Donnelly's Early Life and Education
Anne Donnelly was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She grew up in County Carlow, Ireland.
Studying Art in Europe
Anne studied art at the National College of Art in Dublin. She finished her studies there in 1953. After that, she continued her art education in other countries. She went to the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Madrid, Spain. Later, she studied at the Ecole Julienne in Paris, France, finishing in 1956.
Family Life and Travels
While in Paris, Anne met Carlo Mazzantini. They got married in 1957. Carlo passed away in 2006. Anne and Carlo had four daughters together. Two of their daughters are well-known: Margaret Mazzantini is a novelist, and Giselda Volodi is an actress.
The family loved to travel. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, they explored many places. They visited France, Spain, Ireland, and Morocco. Eventually, they settled down in Italy. They first lived in Tuscany and then moved to Tivoli.
