Mariam Mohamed Fakhr Eddine (Arabic: مريم محمد فخر الدين, born September 8, 1933 – died November 3, 2014) was a very popular Egyptian film and television actress. People often called her the "Beauty of the Screen" (Egyptian Arabic: حسناء الشاشة) because of her lovely looks.
Before she became an actress, Mariam won a beauty contest for having the "Most Beautiful Face." This contest was held by a French magazine called Image. A famous film director, Mahmoud Zulfikar, noticed her talent. He later became her husband. Mariam Fakhr Eddine's first movie was A Night of Love in 1951. She went on to star in more than 200 films during her long career, which lasted until her death in 2014. Some of her well-known movies include Back Again (1957), Sleepless (1957), and Soft Hands (1963). Her younger brother, Youssef Fakhr Eddine, was also a famous actor.

Early Life and Acting Career
Mariam Fakhr Eddine was born in Faiyum, a city in Middle Egypt. Her father was Egyptian, and her mother was Hungarian. She had a younger brother named Youssef Fakhr Eddine, who also became an actor. Mariam went to a German high school.
Her journey into acting began when she won a beauty pageant. She was discovered by director Mahmoud Zulfikar, and they got married in 1952. They had a daughter named Iman. Her first movie, A Night of Love, was even shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 1952.
Mariam became known for her roles in romantic movies in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Later in her career, she often played motherly roles. She worked with actor Salah Zulfikar many times, starring together in thirteen films. In 2007, she appeared in a French-Canadian romantic movie called Whatever Lola Wants. She also attended the Alexandria International Film Festival in 2009.
Later Years and Passing
Mariam Fakhr Eddine passed away on November 3, 2014, in Cairo, Egypt. She had undergone brain surgery a few months before. Her funeral was held at the Maadi Military Hospital Mosque, and she was buried in 6th of October City.
