The Gallery's Story
Marianne Boesky opened her own art gallery in 1996. It was first located in a part of New York City called Soho. She became known for showing the early works of artists like Lisa Yuskavage, Takashi Murakami, and Yoshitomo Nara.
From 2000 to 2005, the gallery had a space in Chelsea, New York. This area is famous for its many art galleries. In 2006, Marianne Boesky Gallery built a large, new space. It was designed by the architect Deborah Berke.
The gallery also had other locations over the years. From 2010 to 2016, it had a space on East 64th Street. In 2014, it opened a spot in the Lower East Side. This space closed in 2016 to make the main Chelsea location even bigger. In 2017, Marianne Boesky opened a new gallery in Aspen, Colorado. This building was designed by architect Annabelle Selldorf.
