Gallery History

Marianne Boesky started her own art gallery in 1996. It was first located in a part of New York City called Soho. She helped introduce many artists to the art world. Some of these artists include Lisa Yuskavage, Takashi Murakami, and Yoshitomo Nara.

From 2000 to 2005, the gallery had a space in Chelsea. This area is known for having many art galleries. In 2006, Marianne Boesky Gallery built a new, large building for its main location. It was designed by architect Deborah Berke.

The gallery also had other locations over the years. From 2010 to 2016, it had a space on East 64th Street. In 2014, it opened another spot in the Lower East Side. This space closed in 2016 to make the main Chelsea location even bigger. In 2017, Marianne Boesky opened a new gallery in Aspen, Colorado. This building was designed by architect Annabelle Selldorf.
