Exploring Her Art and Creations

Marianne Maderna is an artist who loves to mix things up! She creates art using many different forms. These include sculpture, video, drawings, and even live performances. She also uses improvised music and poetic texts in her work.

Her art often explores important ideas about people and society. She looks at how humans behave and how groups are organized. She tries to find new ways to show these ideas.

For example, in 2005, she did a climbing performance. She painted graffiti on a old flak tower in Vienna. These towers were built during World War II.

In 2013, she created a huge art piece called "Humanimals." It was shown in a church in Krems. This installation had thousands of sculptures that glowed in the dark. It also featured a hand-drawn 3D animation. You could walk through it like a video projection! In the same year, she did something super unique. She walked across the Danube River wearing special aqua shoes she made herself. She even dressed up as a female pope!

In 2015, the University of Vienna celebrated its 650th birthday. Marianne Maderna created 36 busts (head and shoulder sculptures) of famous women. She placed them next to the 153 existing busts of famous men. This project highlighted the achievements of women.
