Mariano Francisco Saynez Mendoza (born September 20, 1942 – died November 4, 2020) was an important leader in the Mexican Navy. He reached the highest rank of Admiral and served as the head of the Navy for six years.

About Admiral Saynez
Mariano Francisco Saynez Mendoza was born in Veracruz, Veracruz, a city in Mexico. He joined the Mexican Navy on January 22, 1959. This was the start of his long and successful career serving his country.
His Training and Education
Saynez Mendoza studied at the Heroic Naval Academy. He graduated as a cadet and later, in 1964, he became a midshipman. He continued his education at the Naval Studies Center of Mexico (CESNAV). There, he earned a special diploma for Command and General Staff. He was a very good student, getting high grades. He also attended other important courses, including one in Washington, D.C., about continental defense.
Admiral Saynez Mendoza became the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR). This means he was the top leader of the entire Mexican Navy. He served in this important role under President Felipe Calderón. His time as Secretary of the Navy was from December 1, 2006, to November 30, 2012.
During his time as Secretary, he was involved in efforts to keep Mexico safe. In 2012, the government of the United States praised him for his hard work and leadership.
Later Life
Mariano Francisco Saynez Mendoza passed away on November 4, 2020. He was 78 years old.
