Marilee is a ghost town located in Collin County, Texas. It is found within the large urban area known as the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. A ghost town is a place where most or all people have left, leaving behind empty buildings.
Exploring Marilee's Past
Marilee has always been a very small place. It never had more than 50 people living there at any time.
From the early 1930s to the late 1940s, Marilee had a small business and about 20 residents. After the 1940s, no more people were officially recorded as living there. This is why it is now considered a ghost town.
Where is Marilee Located?
Marilee is in the far northwestern part of Collin County. It is close to the border of Grayson County.
The town is situated along the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks. It is about 5 miles (8 km) north of a town called Celina.
