Marina Bay MRT Station facts for kids

Marina Bay MRT Station (NS27/CE2) is an underground MRT station in Downtown Core, Singapore. It is a very important station because you can switch between two different train lines here: the North South Line and the Circle Line. The station was designed by a company called Aedas.

A Hub for Train Travel

Marina Bay MRT Station is a busy spot where many people start or end their train journeys. It used to be the very last stop on the North South Line until late 2014. Today, most North South Line trains still end their journey here, even though the line goes a bit further to Marina South Pier. This is because not many people travel to Marina South Pier. If you need to go there, you can check the screens on the platform for trains that go all the way.

Connecting Lines

The Circle Line trains that start at Marina Bay usually go all the way to HarbourFront MRT Station. During busy times, some trains might end at Stadium MRT Station instead. When it's not busy, almost all Circle Line trains from here go to Stadium.

Get ready for more! In the future, Marina Bay MRT Station will become even more important. It will connect to a third train line, the Thomson-East Coast Line. This will make it a super hub, allowing even more people to travel easily around Singapore.
