Early Life and Career Beginnings
Marina Rollman grew up in Geneva, Switzerland. She studied architecture and then classic literature in Switzerland and Paris. A stand-up show by Jerry Seinfeld really inspired her to become a comedian.
In 2009, Marina tried out for a comedy contest in Paris. It didn't go as planned, but she didn't give up on her dream. After that, she worked different jobs, like in advertising and even running a food truck. She also babysat for actress Natalie Portman's child!
Becoming a Comedian
In 2013, Marina decided to try comedy again. She was inspired by another Swiss comedian, Thomas Wiesel. That year, she performed at her first "open mic" show in Switzerland. Soon, she started appearing regularly on radio and TV.
In 2014 and 2015, Marina created her own web series and shows. She also performed at big events like the "Festival du rire de Montreux" (a comedy festival) and the Jamel Comedy Club. She even opened shows for famous comedian Gad Elmaleh.
