Marisha's Journey in Theatre and Music
Marisha Wallace started her career on Broadway. She was part of the original casts for popular musicals like Aladdin in 2014 and Something Rotten! in 2015. She performed in the group and also learned other roles as an understudy.
Becoming a Star in the West End
In 2017, Marisha moved to London's West End. She became an alternate for the main role of Effie White in the musical Dreamgirls. Later that year, she took over the role completely. She shared the part with other talented singers.
Marisha also released a Christmas music album in 2017 called Soul Holiday.
Key Roles and Nominations
In 2019, Marisha joined the London cast of Waitress, playing the character Becky. In the summer of 2021, she starred as Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray at the London Coliseum. Her performance earned her a nomination for Best Female Actress in a Musical at the 2021 Black British Theatre Awards.
In 2022, Marisha played Ado Annie in Oklahoma! at the Young Vic theatre. This role led to her being nominated for an Olivier Award. The Olivier Awards are very important awards for theatre in London.
Recent Theatre Work
In March 2023, Marisha began playing Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls at the Bridge Theatre. She was nominated for another Olivier Award for this role. She finished her performances in February 2024.
In August 2024, Marisha performed in a special concert version of Something Rotten! at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. In December 2024, she made her first appearance in a pantomime. She played the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood at the London Palladium.
From January to May 2025, Marisha starred as Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre. She performed alongside Billy Porter.

Marisha Wallace has also worked in movies and TV shows. She was the singing voice for Ms Johnston in the Netflix movie Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey.
In 2021, she appeared in the TV series Feel Good. In March 2024, Marisha was a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother in the UK. She was the fifth person to leave the house during that series.
