Marisol Deluna is an American fashion designer who lives in New York City. She is known for creating fashion items, clothes, and home decorations that are often made using a special printing method called screen printing. Her designs are sold under her brand, Marisol Deluna New York.

Growing Up
Marisol Deluna was born on June 20, 1967, in San Antonio, Texas. Her parents are Rudolfo (Rudy) and Peggy Luna. Marisol uses her family's original Spanish last name. Her father used to make maps from airplanes, and her mother worked at a museum. Marisol grew up in Alamo Heights, a town near San Antonio, and she has five brothers and sisters.
She went to Alamo Heights High School. Later, she studied art at the Kansas City Art Institute and fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Her Fashion Career
Marisol Deluna started her design career in New York City's fashion area in 1989. She began with an entry-level job. In 1997, she started selling her own fashion accessories and custom-made designs. Later, she expanded her brand to include clothing and home decor items. All her products are sold under the name Marisol Deluna New York.
She uses bright, colorful fabrics that she designs by hand. She often uses a method called silk screen printing to create her unique patterns.

Marisol Deluna's company has a special saying: "New York Designed. Texas Made." Her brand aims to support manufacturing and jobs in the United States.
Working with Girl Scouts
When she was a child, Marisol Deluna was a Girl Scout. She has continued to work with the Girl Scouts by designing official uniform accessories for them.
Supporting Diversity
During New York Fashion Week, Marisol Deluna made headlines. She chose Mimi Tao, who was the first transgender model from the TV show Project Runway, to walk in her fashion show. Marisol believes in including people from all backgrounds and encourages her models to smile during her shows.
Awards and Recognition
In 2012, Marisol Deluna received an award from The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). This is the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in America. She was recognized for her charity work and her achievements in her career.
In 2018, Marisol was honored by being added to the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame. This was for her important contributions to the arts.
The Marisol Deluna Foundation
The Marisol Deluna Foundation is a special organization that helps people learn about fashion and design. It is a non-profit group that supports fashion education in her home state of Texas. Since 2015, the foundation has been located in the La Villita Historic Arts Village in downtown San Antonio. This village is close to the San Antonio River Walk.
Creative Hope Initiative
The foundation also has a program called the Linda Luna Duffy Creative Hope Initiative. This program helps people with special needs take part in artistic activities. Linda Luna Duffy was Marisol's older sister and a public school teacher. She passed away in 2017 from ALS.
In 2018, the foundation held its first community fashion show. This event was part of "SA300," which celebrated San Antonio's 300th birthday.
Personal Life
Marisol Deluna is married to Jonathan Washburn Cole. They do not have children and live in Lower Manhattan, New York City.
She is a member of Alpha Phi and the Fashion Institute of Technology Couture Council. She is also an executive member of Fashion Group International. Marisol supports Housing Works and has participated in a public service announcement for Dan Savage's It Gets Better Project.
