Mariusz Łukasz Wlazły (born August 4, 1983) is a famous Polish former volleyball player. He was a key member of the Polish national team from 2005 to 2014. Mariusz played in the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008. He also became a World Champion in 2014. Wlazły spent most of his career playing for Skra Bełchatów. With this club, he won nine league titles and many medals in international games.

About Mariusz Wlazły
Mariusz Wlazły was born in Wieluń, Poland. He married Paulina Drewicz on June 17, 2006. They have two sons. Their first son, Arkadiusz, was born on January 13, 2009. Their second son was born on November 23, 2015. In February 2017, Mariusz earned a master's degree. He studied sports marketing at the Academy of Management and Administration in Opole.
Volleyball Career Highlights
Playing for Clubs
Mariusz Wlazły played for Skra Bełchatów for more than 10 years. During this time, he helped his team win the Polish Championship eight times. These wins happened in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2014.
With Skra, he also won a bronze medal in the 2007–08 CEV Champions League. He was named the Best Spiker in that tournament. He won another bronze medal in the 2009–10 CEV Champions League. There, he was recognized as the Best Scorer.
In the 2011–12 CEV Champions League, Mariusz won a silver medal. He was also named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. He earned two silver medals at the Club World Championships in 2009 and 2010. He also got a bronze medal in 2012.
In 2014, he won his eighth Polish Championship with Skra. His team also won the Polish SuperCup on October 8, 2014. In May 2015, he briefly played for a Qatari club, Al Arabi Doha. He donated all the money he earned there to his own foundation. On February 7, 2016, he won the Polish Cup. His team beat ZAKSA in the final game.
Playing for the National Team
Mariusz Wlazły was part of the Polish national team. He helped them win the U21 World Championship in 2003. He joined the senior national team in 2004. By 2005, he was one of their most important players.
In 2006, he helped Poland win second place at the 2006 FIVB Men's World Championship in Japan. He was almost named the Most Valuable Player. He lost only to the Brazilian star, Giba. In 2010, he stopped playing for the Polish national team for a while. This was due to a disagreement with the team's management.
On April 8, 2014, Mariusz returned to the Polish national team. The head coach, Stéphane Antiga, asked him to come back. On August 16, 2014, he was chosen for the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship. This big tournament was held in Poland.
On September 21, 2014, Poland, with Wlazły, won the title of World Champion. Mariusz received two special awards. He was named the Best Opposite Spiker and the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. On the same day he won the gold medal, Wlazły announced he was retiring from the national team.
On October 27, 2014, he received a special award from the Polish President. It was the Officer's Cross of Polonia Restituta. This award was for his amazing sports achievements. It also recognized how he helped promote Poland around the world.
