Marivan Hashiye (Kurdish: مەریوان, Merîwan Hashiye, Persian: حاشیه مریوان) is a city in the Kurdistan province in western Iran. Its population was 111,031 (in 2005 ). The city is located near the border of Iran and Iraq.
"Lake Zarivar" with length 5 km and a width of 1.6 km is located to the west of Marivan. The water of the lake is fresh and has a depth of 6 meters. Marivans people are mostly Kurds and followers of Islam.
Mariwan is famous for its two boulevards, falakay Penjwen and falakay Halabja.
