Marjorie Jean Oswald Kennedy (born 6 November 1915 – died November 2002) was an amazing Scottish woman. She worked as a librarian but played a secret and important role during the Second World War. Growing Up
Marjorie Kennedy was born in a town called Kilmarnock in Scotland. Her father, Robert Kennedy, was a director in an engineering company. Her mother was Susan Hunter Kennedy. Marjorie went to a private school called Wellington School in Ayr. She was also related to a famous engineer named Thomas Kennedy. He started a company called Glenfield & Kennedy and even invented the world's first water meter!
Working in World War II
From 1942 to 1945, Marjorie served in the Women's Royal Naval Service, also known as the WRNS. This was during the Second World War. She trained in London and then worked in places like Hull and Devonport.
