The Marjory Stoneman Douglas House is found in Miami's Coconut Grove neighborhood. It is on the south side of Stewart Avenue. This house is a single-story building made of wood. Its outside walls have different textures. These include stucco with wood beams, brick, and wooden planks.

The house has a "T" shape. It looks like an old English country cottage. The roof is curved and made of wooden shingles. These shingles were shaped using steam. The wood used on the outside is often cypress. The windows are placed in different spots, not in a regular pattern.
