Mark Moses (born February 24, 1958) is an American actor. He is well-known for his roles in popular TV shows. You might recognize him as Paul Young from the comedy-drama Desperate Housewives. He also played Herman "Duck" Phillips in the drama series Mad Men. Mark Moses has appeared in many films and television shows throughout his career.

Early Life and Education
Mark Moses was born in New York City. He grew up in Evanston, Illinois. His father worked in advertising, which later helped Mark understand his role as Duck Phillips in Mad Men. When Mark was in high school, his parents moved to St. Louis, Missouri. However, he chose to stay in Evanston with family friends to finish high school there.
Mark attended Evanston Township High School. He was the quarterback for his school's football team. After high school, he went to Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York, where he studied English. He left college after a year to travel. Later, he enrolled at New York University and earned a degree in theater.
Acting Career
Mark Moses started his acting journey in 1983. He appeared in the TV soap opera One Life to Live. That same year, he was in a Broadway play called The Slab Boys Trilogy. He acted alongside famous stars like Kevin Bacon and Sean Penn.
He played young Ulysses S. Grant in the miniseries North and South. Mark also made guest appearances on classic TV shows such as Family Ties, The Golden Girls, and Matlock. He worked with director Oliver Stone on several films. These include Platoon (1986), Born on the Fourth of July (1989), and The Doors (1991).
Mark Moses took on supporting roles in many movies. Some of these are Gettysburg (1993), Deep Impact (1998), and Big Momma's House 2 (2006). He had a main role in the romantic comedy-drama Just in Time (1997). He also appeared in TV movies and short-lived sitcoms like Grand (1990) and The Single Guy (1995-96). He guest-starred on many popular shows, including ER, The West Wing, NYPD Blue, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Desperate Housewives and Mad Men
In 2004, Mark Moses got a big role as Paul Young in Desperate Housewives. His character was important to the show's main mystery. He was a regular cast member for two seasons. He later returned to the show for the 2010–11 season. For his work on Desperate Housewives, he and the cast won two Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series awards in 2005 and 2006.
In 2007, Mark joined the cast of Mad Men. He played Herman "Duck" Phillips. This role earned him another Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series in 2009. The series finished in 2014.

After Mad Men, Mark Moses continued to act in many TV series. In 2012, he had a recurring role in The Killing. In 2014, he co-starred in Homeland as Dennis Boyd. He also had recurring roles in shows like Manhattan, Man Seeking Woman, and Salvation.
From 2015 to 2018, he played President Jeffrey Michener in The Last Ship. In 2020, he was a main cast member in the crime drama Deputy. Mark Moses continues to be a busy actor, appearing in various films and television projects.
