Mark Turcotte, born in 1958, is a talented Native American poet. He writes amazing poems that often share stories and feelings. He has published two main books of poetry, Exploding Chippewas and Feathered Heart. He also wrote a shorter book called Road Noise. This book was even translated into French! Mark Turcotte is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. This is a Native American tribe.
Today, Mark Turcotte teaches English at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. He is a visiting assistant professor there. This means he shares his knowledge of writing and poetry with university students.
