Marktosis facts for kids
Marktosis, also known as Maaqtusiis in the Nuu-chah-nulth language, is a main village for the Ahousaht First Nation. It's found on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. Marktosis is located on Flores Island, just southeast of the Hesquiat Peninsula.
This small community can only be reached by boat or plane. Most of its residents are Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations members. About 900 people live in Marktosis.
Marktosis Indian Reserve No. 15 was created around the village area. In 2016, about 622 people lived on this reserve.
