Marlon Errol Garnett, born on July 3, 1975, is a former professional basketball player and coach. He has American and Belizean roots. He recently worked as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Playing Career
Marlon was nicknamed "Money G" during his playing days. He played college basketball for the Santa Clara University team. In 1997, he was named the best player in the West Coast Conference.
In 1999, Marlon joined the Boston Celtics in the NBA. He played in 24 games for them. During his time with the Celtics, he scored 51 points, grabbed 21 rebounds, and made 18 assists.
After playing in the NBA, Marlon moved to Europe. He played professionally in countries like Spain, Italy, and Croatia. In 2005, while playing for Benetton Treviso in Italy, he helped his team win the Italian Cup. He also won championships in Croatia (2008), Iran (2011), and Slovakia (2013).
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Marlon Garnett became a basketball coach.
Starting as a Coach
During the 2015–16 NBA season, Marlon worked for the San Antonio Spurs. He helped the team by coordinating videos and developing players. This role helped him learn a lot about coaching.
On July 27, 2016, Marlon officially became an NBA coach. He joined the Phoenix Suns as an assistant head coach. He also continued to work as a player development coach. He wanted to help the Suns build a strong team for the future.
Leading the Summer League Team
In his second season with the Suns, Marlon took on a bigger role. He became the head coach for the 2017 NBA Summer League team. This was a great chance for him to lead a team. On October 23, 2017, he was promoted to a full-time assistant coach for the Suns.
Moving to Other Teams
On June 8, 2018, Marlon was hired by the Atlanta Hawks as an assistant coach. He worked with the Hawks for several seasons.
Later, on September 27, 2021, he joined the Charlotte Hornets as an assistant coach. In 2023, he also coached the Hornets' summer league team.
