Marque Richardson Jr. (born October 23, 1985) is an American actor. He is known for his roles in movies and TV shows like Dear White People and True Blood.

Early Life of Marque Richardson
Marque Richardson was born in San Diego, California, in a naval hospital. Both of his parents served in the United States Navy. His father is from Detroit, Michigan, and his mother is from Newport News, Virginia.
Marque is the older of two children. He started acting in commercials when he was just four years old! Because his parents were in the Navy, his family moved around a lot. He mostly grew up in Bellflower, California.
Education and Early Career
While growing up, Marque was a great student and athlete at Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California. In 2007, he graduated from the University of Southern California. He earned degrees in business, public policy, planning, and management. He received a full scholarship from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help him pay for college.
After college, Marque worked as an intern at Overbrook Entertainment. This helped him learn more about what happens behind the scenes in the entertainment world.
Marque Richardson's Acting Career
Marque Richardson has appeared in many popular TV shows and movies. One of his first TV roles was on The Bernie Mac Show, where he played a character named Tyrone.
Television Roles
He also had guest roles on other well-known shows like ER, 7th Heaven, Lincoln Heights, and Rules of Engagement. He was a main actor in the web series My Alibi. Marque also had a recurring role on USA Networks' show The Starter Wife.
Film Roles
In 2012, Marque starred in the horror-comedy movie Detention, which was released by Sony. He became well-known for his recurring role as Kenneth on Seasons 5 and 6 of HBO's hit show True Blood. In 2013, he played Mark Gage in another HBO series called The Newsroom.
Dear White People
A big moment in Marque's career was in 2014 when he starred in the movie Dear White People. This film was a satire, which means it used humor to make a point about society. It won a special award at the Sundance Film Festival for being an exciting new voice in American cinema. The movie was released in theaters by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions. Marque also continued his role in the Dear White People TV show, which is a Netflix Original series based on the movie.

Global and Local Service
In 2005, he traveled to Khao Lak, Thailand, to help people after a terrible tsunami hit the area in December 2004. He also worked with Habitat for Humanity, an organization that builds homes for people in need. He helped build homes in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after Hurricane Katrina, and in Retalhuleu, Guatemala.
Scholarship Fund
In 2018, Marque helped create The Jordan Edwards Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund gives scholarships to students to honor the memory of Jordan Edwards. Jordan was a child who was sadly killed by a police officer in Dallas, Texas.
