Marquinho started his football career in his home country, Brazil. He played for a club called Matsubara from 1993 to 1996. After that, he moved to Japan to continue his professional football journey.
Playing in Japan
Marquinho spent a big part of his career playing football in Japan. His first Japanese club was Montedio Yamagata, where he played from 1997 to 1998. He then returned to Matsubara briefly before coming back to Japan.
In 2001, he joined Albirex Niigata, and in 2002, he played for Kawasaki Frontale. After a short time back in Brazil, he returned to Japan to play for Mito HollyHock from 2004 to 2006.
Later Career
From 2007 onwards, Marquinho played for Tonan Maebashi, which was known as Tonan SC Gunma at first. He continued to play for them in various leagues, including the Prefectural and Regional Leagues in Japan.
