Marshall Laverne Bullock II is an American politician. He was a member of the Michigan Senate from 2019 to 2023. He represented the Democratic Party. Since 2023, he has been working for the City of Detroit. He is the Director of Government Affairs for the city.

Early Life and Education
Marshall Bullock grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Detroit Public Schools. He later went to the University of Phoenix. There, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. His studies focused on Human Services.
Community Involvement
Bullock has always been active in his community. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi. This is a well-known fraternity. He also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. This is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America.
Early Career
Before becoming a senator, Bullock worked in public health. He also worked in juvenile justice. From 2014 to 2016, he worked for the Detroit Mayor's Department of Neighborhoods. In this role, he helped people in the community. He listened to their concerns and worked to solve problems. After that, he became the Director of Community and Political Affairs. He held this job until he was elected to the State Senate.
Serving in the Michigan Senate
In 2018, Marshall Bullock ran for the Michigan Senate. He won the election by a large number of votes. He became a state senator in 2019. He represented Michigan's 4th Senate district.
Leadership Role
While in office, Senator Bullock took on an important leadership role. He served as the Chair of the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus. This group works to make sure the voices of African Americans are heard in the state government.
District Changes
Every ten years, after the U.S. Census, legislative maps are redrawn. This happened in Michigan in 2021. Bullock's district changed a lot. He and another Michigan Senator, Mallory McMorrow, ended up in the same new district. This new district was called District 8. Bullock's old district made up only a small part of the new one. Senator McMorrow won the primary election for this new district. Bullock's term ended in 2023.
Current Role in Detroit
After leaving the Michigan Senate, Bullock returned to work for the City of Detroit. He now serves as the Director of Government Affairs. In this job, he works to help Detroit. He talks with state and federal leaders. He makes sure the city's needs and ideas are heard.
