Marshy Point Nature Center is a super cool place in Middle River, Maryland where you can learn all about nature! It's run by Baltimore County and a group called the Marshy Point Nature Center Council. This awesome center opened in 2000 and is located right by the Dundee and Saltpeter Creeks.
You can visit the nature center from 9 AM to 5 PM. They even have a calendar that tells you about all the fun programs happening throughout the year. The park around the center has 8 miles of trails for hiking, a boat dock, and a place where you can launch a canoe.
Inside the nature center and all around the park, you'll find exhibits. These exhibits let you get up close with local wildlife. They also teach you why the Chesapeake Bay and its natural areas are so important.

Building the Center
The work on the center started on October 20, 1998. This was possible because of a big grant of $2.7 million. A grant is like a gift of money given for a special purpose.
Opening Day
The nature center officially opened its doors to the public on May 1, 2000. That same year, the state of Maryland spent $2 million to buy the trails behind the center. This made sure the trails would be protected for everyone to enjoy.
Growing Bigger
In 2005, the center got even better! They approved $300,000 to make the building bigger. This expansion added 30% more space. More space means more room for exhibits and programs!
